What's the difference between a DS/Wii Wifi USB Adapter and a Wii LAN adapter?

I'm upsetting to decide what item to purchase a DS/Wii Wifi USB Adapter or a Wii LAN adapter, and I would like to identify what's the differences and benefits in each product.

USB Adapter is wireless. It runs off of your computer, sending a wireless signal to your Wii. I would STRONGLY lead one to believe not getting this, I had nothing but trouble with it since I first got it. It also doesn't seem to drudgery with Vista.
