why wont my monster cable 1000 thx hdmi wont work with my ps3?

i have 2 hdmi cables a tuppence one that i bought for $40 and it works with the ps3 dry
and i got another one for $80 cuz it was said that itll look richer reconsider
but im having a problem now
with my old hdmi i get the picture

It sounds like the more extravagant one doesn't work. Also it won't look any improve. hdmi is digital, so as long as the signal is getting through then its delivering a unrivalled signal.
