Help with ipod remote and Bose SoundDock Series II?

Ipod photo, 30gb, can't be controlled by remote of Bose SoundDock Series II. On the Bose placement it lists that the ipod is compatible, but the remote does not industry.

I'm assuming it's the 5.5 Gen 30g video ipod... problems throng with.
If you updated the ipod the there's the problem.
The new updates do something to the 5th gens for some dissuade (I for one couldnt get it to video output to my HDTV)
