How do I get my Sony Z1 HD camera to let me import into HD instead of DV?

Hi there,
I recently administer some stuff on the sony Z1 but have not used it before.
Every time I try and connotation it using Final Cut HD Express, the "pinch" screen remains zero and nothing is imported even though the camera

You did not forecast us which version of FinalCut Express you are using.

Have you set the preferences in FinalCut?

In the Audio/Vidoe Settings, mine shows:
Cycle Preset: Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60

This is some kind of crazy experiment, for which Sony is famous of. Once a while they are producing oddities like that. Nothing off the beam with the concept, but how they are implemented it. Arghh…
