How do I get my Sony Z1 HD camera to let me import into HD instead of DV?

Hi there,
I recently motivation some stuff on the sony Z1 but have not used it before.
Every time I try and gist it using Final Cut HD Express, the "arrest" screen remains unexpressive and nothing is imported even though the camera

You did not certain us which version of FinalCut Express you are using.

Have you set the preferences in FinalCut?

In the Audio/Vidoe Settings, mine shows:
Organization Preset: Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60
